History

1971 The "Family Living Group" was founded as a self-help group for adults with physical disabilities
1972 Moved to the Brantford General Hospital under the Occupational Therapy department
1983 Incorporated as the Family Living Group Brant
1984 Moved to Newport Street
1997 Moved to Morton Avenue
1999 Moved to Henry Street. Legally renamed the "Adult Recreation Therapy Centre" to reflect the type of service we were providing in the community
2001 Introduction of a formalized "Aphasia Program" initially supported financially through a grant from the Sunrise Rotary Club of Brantford
2005 Satellite site opens in Paris at the Willett serving residents of the County of Brant
2008 ARTC receives Aging at Home grant to lead the Regional Aphasia project which offers aphasia programming across the HNHB LHIN

ARTC satellite program at the Willett in Paris is now offered Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Caregiver support group meetings take place the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 at ARTC in Brantford.

Living with Aphasia support group takes place the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 at ARTC in Brantford.
